Description
Electrical and Relay Safety Precautions
- This product must be operated by a professional electrician or technician. Ensure electrical safety, leakage protection, and insulation measures are in place during use.
- Before installing, maintaining, or replacing relays, always turn off the power and unplug the device.
- Do not attempt to disassemble the relay to avoid damage or electric shock.
- Please properly install and store the relay. Do not use it in humid, overheated, flammable, or explosive environments to avoid safety accidents caused by careless installation or use.
1. Load Matching
- Confirm that the rated voltage and current of the relay match the load. Do not overload. Excessive current may cause the contacts to melt or stick, or even cause a fire.
- For inductive loads (motors, coils, lamps, etc.), the starting current may be much higher than the rated current. Select a relay with sufficient rated current margin.
2. Short-Circuit and Overcurrent Protection
- Add a fuse or circuit breaker to the relay circuit to prevent load short-circuits or accidental overcurrent from burning the relay.
- When wiring, ensure that the load circuit is not short-circuited. If necessary, select a protective element with an appropriately rated current.
3. Arc and Pickup Protection
- Relay switching can generate arcs, which can easily cause contact wear or welding.
- It is recommended to use arc-quenching protection such as an RC snubber circuit or varistor for inductive loads.
4. Installation Environment
- Avoid use in humid, high-temperature, flammable, explosive, or dusty environments.
- The relay should be securely installed to prevent vibration or shock that could cause malfunction or damage.
5. Power-Off Operation
- Before performing maintenance, wiring, or replacing the relay, be sure to disconnect the power supply to ensure personal and equipment safety.
- The latching relay is energized only when its state changes. It is normally de-energized. Avoid violent vibration or strong magnetic field interference that could cause the relay to change state.
6. Status Confirmation
- After energizing the latching relay, confirm or reset the relay state as needed to avoid abnormal operation due to transportation, installation, or external interference.
- Avoid powering off the latching relay while it is operating to prevent state uncertainty or contact damage.
7. Periodic Inspection
- After extended use, regularly inspect the relay contacts, wiring terminals, and insulation to ensure proper operation.
- If abnormal heating, odor, or burn marks occur, immediately de-energize and replace the relay.
